Interests

I say on my opening index page that my Digital Portfolio will show you some of my interests, but not all of them. This is simply because I am interested in everything. I am even interested in things I do not like, mainly because I want to know why I feel that way. This section would probably more acurately describe the things I like to do in my free time.

First and foremost, my favorite hobby is to just sit and think. Most people probably would not consider this a hobby, but it seems like that to me. Secondly, I enjoy the arts. I feel like they are probably the most acurate way to try to describe an emotion, even if you do not know what exactly that emotion is. Along with hand drawing the arms and wings for this website and making the sky scene banner on my other website, I have enclosed examples of some other artistic things that I have created. When I have been home lately, I have used my artistic skills to carve wood for making windchimes. I also really enjoy sports, although I have reached the opinion that playing serious competitive sports is no better of a pursuit than the acquisition of property. As long as sports are primarily for fun, I think they are great. I spend a good deal of my free time at Alma playing volleyball, ultimate frisbee, or just working out in the Rec Center. I also really enjoy listening to music, and now the attempt to play it as well. I have tickets to go see Pearl Jam this summer and I have been messing around with the guitar, trying to teach myself. I have enclosed a sound clip of some of the songs I know how to play and a short narrative. Past these things, I really do like to do and try just about every conventional hobby and activity.
